Do NOT apply for this course if you have only taken Algebra I. AP Chemistry is math-based, and students must be proficient in working with Algebra II level logarithms and scientific notation. If your Algebra II skills are rusty, you should find some online tutorials, enroll in a short summer course, or get a tutor so that you can practice using logarithms and scientific notation before
the start of class.


First-year chemistry is not required for students who are REALLY strong in math.


STEM degree programs are science, technology, engineering, and math.
